Nitrogen is used around the laser tip for two purposes;
1) to maintain the proper weld temperature, and
2) to get oxygen and moisture out of the beam path. Purity levels are typically 99% to 99.9%, but can vary depending on the exact requirements. Typical feed pressure for this laser process typically does not exceed 70 PSIG.

A completed PSA nitrogen generator system includes air compressor, refrigeration air dryer, air filters, air tank, nitrogen generator and gas buffer tank. The outlet pressure can be boosted up to 350bar.
