PU-8 has high capacity of nitrogen and high N2/O2 selectivity. In comparison with traditional oxygen generation absorbent, the absorption capacity of PU-8 absorbent was substantially improved which has reached the most advanced international level. The project of PU-8 absorbent was listed as 1999 State Torch Plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology and has obtained certificate of 2001 National New Products. In addition, it was listed as 2002 Small and Medium Enterprise Innovation Funds Financed Projects of Ministry of Science and Technology as important component of VPSA oxygen generation process. In 2003, it was awarded with Second Prize of Beijing Technical Market Golden Bridge Award. In 2006, the complete VPSA oxygen generation technology developed by taking PU-8 as core and basis obtained First Prize for Progress in Science and Technology awarded by Ministry of Education.

The VPSA oxygen generation apparatus with adoption of PU-8 oxygen generation absorbent has been put into operation by multiple users and has been favorably reviewed by the users for virtue of advanced performance and reliable quality.

With PU-8 absorbent, VPSA oxygen generators show higher oxygen absorption rate and needs much less raw air for processing and nitrogen for desorption than with conventional absorbents. The absorbent enables oxygen generator to operate economically by reducing the load on fans and vacuum pumps and in turn consumption of power to generate oxygen.
