Established in 1905, CSR Qishuyan Locomotive Co., Ltd. is located in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, facing Shanghai on the east and Nanjing on the west, with Beijing-Shanghai railway and Shanghai-Nanjing intercity railway threading their way through the company. The company is recognized as the developing and manufacturing base for principal diesel locomotives for passenger and freight transport in Chinese railway, and as a traction power pioneer of the six speed-UPS in Chinese railway. The company is affiliated with China South Locomotive & Rolling Stock Corporation Limited (abbreviated as CSR hereafter) under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.
The company occupies 1.9 million square meters with more than 6, 000 employees, including more than 1, 400 administrative engineers and technicians, among whom there are 167 senior and professional technical personnel, 18 experts who enjoy the State Council special allowance or make outstanding contribution at the state or ministerial level.
