Carbon molecular sieve nitrogen gas plant is based on the technology of PSA or Pressure Swing Adsorption.
Ambient air, having being compressed and purified to remove oil, water and dust, enters the adsoption swing adsorping device with two adsorption towers filled with carcon molecular sieve(CMS). Carbon molecular sieve is acted as the adsorbent. The compressed air flow to the adsorption tower from the bottom to up. At higher pressures, CMS has a higher affinity for oxygen and trace ammount of water vapor. So in the process, oxygen molecular is adsorbed, while nitrogen flows out of the upper side of adsorption tower and then enters the buffer tank. After a period of time, the CMS in the adsorption tower is saturated by the oxygen adsorbed. At this time, regeneration is needed. It is realized by stopping adsorbing step and releasing pressure in the adsorption tower. Adsorption and regeneration are conducted alternatively in the two adsorption towers to ensure the consecutive output of nitrogen gas.

The filters and refrigerated dryer offer the air treatment for PSA nitrogen generator. They ensure that only cleanand dry compressed air can enter the PSA adsorption towers.
The PSA nitrogen generator utilizes pressure swing adsorption technology. Two adsorption towers are filled with CMS. Programmable Logic controller(PLC) simply operates the process valves(solenoid valves and pneumatic valves are which is world famous brand) on a cyclic basis, for automatic stop/start. Nitrogen/oxygen analyzer can monitor the flow rate of product gas continuously.
In order for higher purity nitrogen ( as high as 99.999% or 99.9995%), the purifying unit can be added to the PSA generation unit. There three kinds of purifying methods of our company, one is by hydrogenation, one is by carbon deoxidization, and the third is highly efficient de-oxidization.
