The history and feature of diesel generator
Diesel generator is a small item of power generating device, it consumes diesel, and takes diesel motor as the prime motor to supply power to generator. The entire machine is generally composed of diesel motor, generator, control tank, combustion chamber, battery, protection device and other components. It can fixed on basic facility, or located, even for mobile use. Diesel generator belongs to these generating devices which can not work successively, if it has been working for twelve ours, its output power should be lower than rated power. Although diesel generator ahs low power, it is agile, convenient, and easy for operate and repair, so it is widely used by miner, railway, wild construction site, enterprise, hospital and so on.
In 1897s, the first diesel generator in the world is invented in Augsburg which is a province of Germany, and it is invented by Rudolf Diesel who is the founder of MAN enterprise, so the diesel motor is named as his name. MAN enterprise is still the biggest diesel generator manufacturer in the world, its generator can have a capacity of 15000KW, and it is the main power supplier in ocean shipping industry. Our country’s large-scale diesel generator depends MAN enterprise, such as Dongjiang electricity company in Guangzhou province, Fushan electricity company so on. Now the earliest diesel generator is still preserved in Germany’s national museum for exhibition. Now we’d like to introduce the working theory of diesel generator. In the combustion chamber of diesel motor, purified air which is filtered by air cleaning machine is well mixed with high compressed foggy diesel which is jetted through nozzle. Under the up-down compression of piston, the volume becomes smaller, and the temperature in the combustion chamber is rising so fast, when it reaches the burning point of diesel, the mixed air burns fiercely, and the volume expands, so it pushes piston down, in that way it makes the crank turning, because the alternative current generator is installed coaxially with crank, so when the diesel is turning, it drives the rotor of generator. Because of the electromagnetic induction, generator can output inductive voltage, and it runs through resistance, it will produce current.
The advantage of using diesel motor is that when the cost of fuel and working condition change, the change of fuel-consumption efficiency is flat. It is also famous for its reliability, durability, low poisonous air emission and wide range of use.
The generator group shoulders the burden of national economy and daily life’s electricity demand, in the future it will still play an important part for a long time. With the development of civilization and economy, the former generator group can not meet people’s need, so the trend of future generator group should be along low energy-consumption, environment protection, good looking appreance.
